Auction result well in line with expectations
In April this year Phillips in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Rice Terraces #4, Western Yunnan Province, China by Edward Burtynsky. The price achieved of USD 25,400.00 (€ 23,007.25) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edward Burtynsky - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Nickel Tailings #34 and #35, Sudbury, Ontario, which sold at auction in October 2014 for USD 100,000.00 (€ 79,808.46).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April diesen Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Rice Terraces #4, Western Yunnan Province, China von Edward Burtynsky zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 25.400,00 (€ 23.007,25) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Edward Burtynsky mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Nickel Tailings #34 and #35, Sudbury, Ontario beobachtet, die im Oktober 2014 für USD 100.000,00 (€ 79.808,46) versteigert wurde.
