Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Edward Bower could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in January 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Master Paintings & Sculpture Day Sale auction, the work Portrait Of A Lady, Half-Length, Wearing A Black Dress With Broad Lace Collar, Pearls, Hair Ribbons, And Holding A Bouquet Of Roses changed hands for USD 18,750.00 (€ 16,902.55) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Bower achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of Thomas Fairfax, 3Rd Lord Fairfax Of Cameron (1612 – 1671), Three-Quarter-Length, A Landscape Beyond in December 2017 with an auction result of GBP 162,500.00 (€ 182,869.95).
In der Auktion Master Paintings & Sculpture Day Sale wechselte die Arbeit Portrait Of A Lady, Half-Length, Wearing A Black Dress With Broad Lace Collar, Pearls, Hair Ribbons, And Holding A Bouquet Of Roses für USD 18.750,00 (€ 16.902,55) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00.
