Auction result well in line with expectations
In October last year Bonhams in Edinburgh held the auction Scottish Art, which included the work Pick-a-Back by Edward Atkinson Hornel. It changed hands for a price of GBP 8,925.00 (€ 10,397.53) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 7,000.00 – 9,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Atkinson Hornel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Bluebell Wood in April 2007 with an auction result of GBP 84,000.00 (€ 122,986.82).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in Edinburgh die Auktion Scottish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Pick-a-Back von Edward Atkinson Hornel zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 8.925,00 (€ 10.397,53) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 7.000,00 – 9.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Atkinson Hornel erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Bluebell Wood im April 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 84.000,00 (€ 122.986,82).
