Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Edward Allington could be acquired at Christies in London in May 2006 for an unexpectedly low price. In the 20th Century British Art auction, the work Between The Horns of The Snail No.4; And Propped Channel changed hands for GBP 360.00 (€ 525.48) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edward Allington - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Horn And Sickle, which sold at auction in May 2006 for GBP 780.00 (€ 1,138.55).
