This artwork by Eduard Kasparides achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Olympia in May 2006. In the The Greek Sale auction, the work Portrait Of A Young Woman sold for GBP 2,640.00 (€ 3,853.54) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Eduard Kasparides; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Nymphe am Fluss. sold at auction in November this year with the realized price of EUR 6,600.00.
