Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Eduard Charlemont could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in February 2018 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Fine Old Master & 19th Century European Art auction, the work Austrian the Card Game changed hands for USD 21,250.00 (€ 17,402.34) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Eduard Charlemont - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Pages, which sold at auction in January 2011 for USD 74,500.00 (€ 54,320.09).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Eduard Charlemont konnte im Februar 2018 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Fine Old Master & 19th Century European Art wechselte die Arbeit Austrian the Card Game für USD 21.250,00 (€ 17.402,34) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Eduard Charlemont mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Pages beobachtet, die im Januar 2011 für USD 74.500,00 (€ 54.320,09) versteigert wurde.
