Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2001 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES, which included the work A shepherd herding his flock across moorland by Edouard Pail. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 881.25 (€ 1,402.35) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edouard Pail - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A shepherd and his flock on a hillside, which sold at auction in October 2000 for GBP 2,115.00 (€ 3,615.14).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2001 führte Christies in London die Auktion BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit A shepherd herding his flock across moorland von Edouard Pail zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 881,25 (€ 1.402,35) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Edouard Pail mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A shepherd and his flock on a hillside beobachtet, die im Oktober 2000 für GBP 2.115,00 (€ 3.615,14) versteigert wurde.
