Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2014 Sothebys in New York held the auction 19th Century European Art, which included the work American Setters At Rest by Edmund Henry Osthaus. The price achieved of USD 37,500.00 (€ 27,492.67) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Admittedly, works by Edmund Henry Osthaus have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Hunting in the Fall - Three Pointers in December 2006 with an auction result of USD 180,000.00 (€ 136,394.64).
