Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Riviera Express, Air Union by Edmond Maurus was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,210.34) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edmond Maurus - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work United States Lines, which sold at auction in November 2012 for GBP 10,000.00 (€ 12,318.99).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Riviera Express, Air Union von Edmond Maurus kam im November 2011 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.750,00 (€ 3.210,34) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Edmond Maurus mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit United States Lines beobachtet, die im November 2012 für GBP 10.000,00 (€ 12.318,99) versteigert wurde.
