Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2006 a collector was able to acquire the work Sunset at Purbeck quarry by Edith Lawrence for GBP 72.00 (€ 105.53). This price was achieved in the auction British and Continental Pictures and Watercolours at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 200.00 – 300.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edith Lawrence achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Eileen Mayo in September 2020 with an auction result of GBP 16,250.00 (€ 17,918.27).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Januar 2006 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Sunset at Purbeck quarry von Edith Lawrence für GBP 72,00 (€ 105,53) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion British and Continental Pictures and Watercolours bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 200,00 – 300,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edith Lawrence erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of Eileen Mayo im September 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 16.250,00 (€ 17.918,27).
