In July 2012 Christies in London held the auction Victorian & British Impressionist Art, which included the work Waiting for the catch by Edith Hume. The price achieved of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,960.82) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Other works by Edith Hume have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in November 2000 the work The Dutch fisherman's family awaiting the return of the fleet was auctioned for GBP 5,170.00 (€ 8,450.16).

Im Juli 2012 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian & British Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Waiting for the catch von Edith Hume zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 6.250,00 (€ 7.960,82) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden.
