Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2009 a collector was able to acquire the work Le port à Volendam: boats in the harbour of Volendam by night by Edgard Farasyn for EUR 1,250.00. This price was achieved in the auction Nineteen to Now, art from the 19th, 20th & 21st centuries, including Topographical Observations, African and Indonesian Pictures at Christies in Amsterdam and was even below the estimate range of EUR 1,500.00 – 2,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Edgard Farasyn have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Busy Market In Antwerp in October 2007 with an auction result of EUR 6,000.00.
