Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2003 Christies in London held the auction THE FORBES COLLECTION OF VICTORIAN PICTURES AND WORKS OF ART, which included the work The Cavalier by Edgar Bundy. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,182.50 (€ 6,106.32) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edgar Bundy - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Despatches - Is He Mentioned?, which sold at auction in December 2014 for GBP 17,500.00 (€ 22,528.30).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Februar 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion THE FORBES COLLECTION OF VICTORIAN PICTURES AND WORKS OF ART durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Cavalier von Edgar Bundy zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 4.182,50 (€ 6.106,32) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Edgar Bundy mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Despatches - Is He Mentioned? beobachtet, die im Dezember 2014 für GBP 17.500,00 (€ 22.528,30) versteigert wurde.
