Upper estimate price exceeded by 25 %.
In February 2013 Phillips in London held the auction Evening Editions, which included the work News, Mews, Pews, Brews, Stews & Dues by Ed Ruscha. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 15,000.00 (€ 17,423.35), 25% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ed Ruscha achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hurting the Word Radio #2 in November 2019 with an auction result of USD 52,485,000.00 (€ 47,631,364.01).
