Auction result well in line with expectations

The work A Belfast colonial clipper, possibly the Slieve Donard, approaching Liverpool by Duncan McFarlane was sold in the Maritime auction at Christies in London in May 2003. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,290.00 (€ 4,583.80) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Duncan McFarlane have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The clipper ship Dreadnought in February 2006 with an auction result of USD 26,400.00 (€ 22,138.36).

Die Arbeit A Belfast colonial clipper, possibly the Slieve Donard, approaching Liverpool von Duncan McFarlane wurde im Mai 2003 in der Auktion Maritime bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.290,00 (€ 4.583,80) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
