This artwork by Dumile Feni achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in May 2017. In the Modern and Contemporary African Art auction, the work Untitled (Figure) sold for GBP 5,625.00 (€ 6,460.54) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dumile Feni achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Head in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 60,062.00 (€ 69,667.61).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 88 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Dumile Feni erzielte im Mai 2017 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary African Art wurde die Arbeit Untitled (Figure) für GBP 5.625,00 (€ 6.460,54) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Dumile Feni erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Head im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 60.062,00 (€ 69.667,61).
