Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sin Título (Pedro Infante) by Dr. Lakra was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 18,000.00 – 22,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 18,750.00 (€ 16,838.80) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Dr. Lakra - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (Pomada), which sold at auction in October 2007 for GBP 24,500.00 (€ 35,183.61).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Sin Título (Pedro Infante) von Dr. Lakra kam im Mai 2016 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 18.000,00 – 22.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 18.750,00 (€ 16.838,80) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Dr. Lakra mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (Pomada) beobachtet, die im Oktober 2007 für GBP 24.500,00 (€ 35.183,61) versteigert wurde.
