In June 2016 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work Ann; Emerson Study: Two Works On Paper by Doug Brega. The »bidding war« ended at USD 4,000.00 (€ 3,625.82), 33% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Doug Brega have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Red Door in November last year with an auction result of USD 16,575.00 (€ 16,056.38).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 33 % übertroffen
Im Juni 2016 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ann; Emerson Study: Two Works On Paper von Doug Brega zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 4.000,00 (€ 3.625,82) und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Doug Brega auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Red Door im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 16.575,00 (€ 16.056,38).
