This artwork by Dorothy Johnstone achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in March 2002. In the British, Victorian and Scottish Pictures including Pictures auction, the work Landscape with farmhouse sold for GBP 1,292.50 (€ 2,112.90) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 700.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Dorothy Johnstone - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Galloway, which sold at auction in November 2001 for GBP 4,700.00 (€ 7,479.18).
