Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Dorothy Dehner was auctioned at Christies in New York in September 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,875.00 (€ 1,587.23). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dorothy Dehner achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Septenarius in October 2020 with an auction result of USD 100,800.00 (€ 86,545.89).
