This artwork by Dorothea Lange achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in June 2010. In the Photographs from the Polaroid Collection auction, the work Selected Portraits Of Women sold for USD 6,250.00 (€ 5,085.02) - well above the upper estimate of USD 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dorothea Lange achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Migrant Mother, 1936 in February 2016 with an auction result of USD 389,000.00 (€ 357,931.54).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Dorothea Lange erzielte im Juni 2010 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Photographs from the Polaroid Collection wurde die Arbeit Selected Portraits Of Women für USD 6.250,00 (€ 5.085,02) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Dorothea Lange erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Migrant Mother, 1936 im Februar 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 389.000,00 (€ 357.931,54).
