Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Kimono Dragon by Donald Urquhart was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 504.00 (€ 601.17) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Donald Urquhart achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Joan Crawford Alphabet in March 2017 with an auction result of GBP 11,000.00 (€ 12,890.91).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Kimono Dragon von Donald Urquhart kam im Dezember 2021 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 500,00 – 700,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 504,00 (€ 601,17) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Donald Urquhart erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Joan Crawford Alphabet im März 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 11.000,00 (€ 12.890,91).
