Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Beninese Agonmenouvi 1 by Dominique Zinkpè was sold in the Modern & Contemporary African Art auction at Sothebys in London in April 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 5,625.00 (€ 6,543.50) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Dominique Zinkpè - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Belle d'un Jour, which sold at auction in March 2019 for GBP 13,812.00 (€ 16,031.17).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Beninese Agonmenouvi 1 von Dominique Zinkpè wurde im April 2019 in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 5.625,00 (€ 6.543,50) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Dominique Zinkpè mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Belle d'un Jour beobachtet, die im März 2019 für GBP 13.812,00 (€ 16.031,17) versteigert wurde.
