Auction result well in line with expectations
The work An architectural capriccio of the Pantheon and other buildings, with figures making a sacrifice to a goddess, figures conversing and dancing amongst the ruins beyond by Domenico Roberti was auctioned at Christies in London in October 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 20,000.00 – 40,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 22,500.00 (€ 31,471.88) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Domenico Roberti have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Capricci Of Roman Ruins With Soldiers And Merchants Conversing, The Colosseum And A Rocky Bay Beyond; A Coastal Landscape With Shepherds And Elegant Figures Amongst Ruins in December 2010 with an auction result of GBP 151,250.00 (€ 175,449.54).

Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 22.500,00 (€ 31.471,88) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
