Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2015 Sothebys in London held the auction 19th Century European Paintings, which included the work Turkish battleships On High Seas by Diyarbakirli Tahsin. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 21,250.00 (€ 29,545.89) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Diyarbakirli Tahsin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Turkish marine in May 2013 with an auction result of GBP 134,500.00 (€ 157,251.50).
