Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2000 a collector was able to acquire the work A herdsman and cattle beside a river by Dixon Clark for GBP 188.00 (€ 321.35). This price was achieved in the auction British and Continental Watercolours and Drawings at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 250.00 – 350.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dixon Clark achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Cattle and sheep resting in a water meadow in November 2000 with an auction result of GBP 3,055.00 (€ 4,993.28).
