Despite a disappointment, a good price for Dirk van der Aa

This work of art by Dirk van der Aa could be acquired at Christies in London in July 2012 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale auction, the work Putti in a wooded landscape with a bird and a lap-dog changed hands for GBP 37,250.00 (€ 47,446.49) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Despite this disappointing result, Putti in a wooded landscape with a bird and a lap-dog is the most expensive artwork by Dirk van der Aa that we have observed at auction so far.
