This artwork by Dipo Andy achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2013. In the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings auction, the work Kultus: Powerful Women sold for HKD 275,000.00 (€ 26,919.43) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 150,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Dipo Andy - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mendadak Nge-Pop (Suddenly Pop), which sold at auction in October 2008 for HKD 572,000.00 (€ 58,183.25).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 83 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Dipo Andy erzielte im April 2013 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings wurde die Arbeit Kultus: Powerful Women für HKD 275.000,00 (€ 26.919,43) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 150.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Dipo Andy mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Mendadak Nge-Pop (Suddenly Pop) beobachtet, die im Oktober 2008 für HKD 572.000,00 (€ 58.183,25) versteigert wurde.
