Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Spanish hauling In The Catch by Dionis Baixeras was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 5,625.00 (€ 7,638.48). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Dionis Baixeras - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Boatmen of Barcelona, which sold at auction in April 2005 for USD 31,200.00 (€ 24,150.48).
