Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In February 2018 Sothebys in New York held the auction Master Paintings Evening Sale, which included the work Portrait Of Monsignor Cristoforo Segni (D. 1661), Maggiordomo To Pope Innocent X by Diego Rodríguez de Silva y Velázquez. Here, the upper estimate of USD 4,000,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 4,066,600.00 (€ 3,330,275.98). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Diego Rodríguez de Silva y Velázquez - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Saint Rufina, which sold at auction in July 2007 for GBP 8,420,000.00 (€ 12,505,643.64).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Februar 2018 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Master Paintings Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait Of Monsignor Cristoforo Segni (D. 1661), Maggiordomo To Pope Innocent X von Diego Rodríguez de Silva y Velázquez zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 4.000.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 4.066.600,00 (€ 3.330.275,98) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Diego Rodríguez de Silva y Velázquez mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Saint Rufina beobachtet, die im Juli 2007 für GBP 8.420.000,00 (€ 12.505.643,64) versteigert wurde.
