Auction result well in line with expectations
In October this year Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Masterpieces from the Collection of Sam Josefowitz: A Lifetime of Discovery and Scholarship, which included the work La table carcasse by Diego Giacometti. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 250,000.00 – 400,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 252,000.00 (€ 289,366.01) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Diego Giacometti achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La console 'Hommage à Böcklin' in October this year with an auction result of GBP 5,122,000.00 (€ 5,881,478.99).
