This artwork by Diego Giacometti achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in December 2020. In the La Ménagerie auction, the work Chat maître d’hôtel sold for USD 275,000.00 (€ 224,856.91) - well above the upper estimate of USD 150,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Diego Giacometti achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La console 'Hommage à Böcklin' in October this year with an auction result of GBP 5,122,000.00 (€ 5,881,478.99).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Diego Giacometti erzielte im Dezember 2020 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion La Ménagerie wurde die Arbeit Chat maître d’hôtel für USD 275.000,00 (€ 224.856,91) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 150.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Diego Giacometti erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit La console 'Hommage à Böcklin' im Oktober diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.122.000,00 (€ 5.881.478,99).
