Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2004 Christies in Melbourne held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included the work Going Fishing, Northern Territory by Dick Roughsey. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 1,000.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 1,195.00 (€ 696.05) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Dick Roughsey - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Goonana Village, which sold at auction in March 2020 for GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,411.51).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2004 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Going Fishing, Northern Territory von Dick Roughsey zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 1.000,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von AUD 1.195,00 (€ 696,05) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Dick Roughsey mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Goonana Village beobachtet, die im März 2020 für GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.411,51) versteigert wurde.
