Sold at the upper estimate price
In September 2014 Christies in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Boy with a straw hat waiting to march in a pro-war parade, N.Y.C., 1967 by Diane Arbus. The auction ended at the price of USD 30,000.00 (€ 23,756.73), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Diane Arbus achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A box of ten photographs in May this year with an auction result of USD 1,008,000.00 (€ 946,123.52).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im September 2014 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Boy with a straw hat waiting to march in a pro-war parade, N.Y.C., 1967 von Diane Arbus zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 30.000,00 (€ 23.756,73) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Diane Arbus erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A box of ten photographs im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.008.000,00 (€ 946.123,52).
