It achieved a price of GBP 10,200.00 (€ 12,194.74), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 70%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dia Al-Azzawi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Arsak Mowt (Your Wedding is Death) in October 2016 with an auction result of USD 235,500.00 (€ 214,833.06).

Die Arbeit If you came to me in a Foreign Land, the Encounter would be Incomplete: Badr Shakir Al-Sayyab von Dia Al-Azzawi kam im Februar letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 10.200,00 (€ 12.194,74) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 70%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Dia Al-Azzawi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Arsak Mowt (Your Wedding is Death) im Oktober 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 235.500,00 (€ 214.833,06).
