Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Epic of Gilgamesh: Come to me, Gilgamesh, and be my Husband by Dia Al-Azzawi was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art, Part II auction at Christies in London in November last year. It changed hands for a price of GBP 17,640.00 (€ 20,440.73) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dia Al-Azzawi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Arsak Mowt (Your Wedding is Death) in October 2016 with an auction result of USD 235,500.00 (€ 214,833.06).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Epic of Gilgamesh: Come to me, Gilgamesh, and be my Husband von Dia Al-Azzawi wurde im November letzten Jahres in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art, Part II bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 17.640,00 (€ 20.440,73) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Dia Al-Azzawi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Arsak Mowt (Your Wedding is Death) im Oktober 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 235.500,00 (€ 214.833,06).
