Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In February last year Bonhams in London held the auction Sketches from Baghdad, which included the work Homage to Jewad Selim by Dia Al-Azzawi. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 7,012.50 (€ 8,383.89), 17% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dia Al-Azzawi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Arsak Mowt (Your Wedding is Death) in October 2016 with an auction result of USD 235,500.00 (€ 214,833.06).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Februar letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Sketches from Baghdad durch, in der auch die Arbeit Homage to Jewad Selim von Dia Al-Azzawi zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 7.012,50 (€ 8.383,89) und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Dia Al-Azzawi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Arsak Mowt (Your Wedding is Death) im Oktober 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 235.500,00 (€ 214.833,06).
