Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait Of Sir David And Lady Scott At The Dower House, Boughton by Derek Hill was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,375.00 (€ 5,289.70) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Derek Hill have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Professor R.B. Mc Dowell leaving the Rubrics, Trinity College, Dublin in May 2001 with an auction result of GBP 23,500.00 (€ 39,398.29).
