Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of Raymond Mortimer by Derek Hill was sold in the 20th Century British Art including the Collection of the auction at Christies in London in November 2003. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,075.50 (€ 1,543.90) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Derek Hill achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Professor R.B. Mc Dowell leaving the Rubrics, Trinity College, Dublin in May 2001 with an auction result of GBP 23,500.00 (€ 39,398.29).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait of Raymond Mortimer von Derek Hill wurde im November 2003 in der Auktion 20th Century British Art including the Collection of the bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.075,50 (€ 1.543,90) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Derek Hill erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Professor R.B.
