In May 2004 Christies in London held the auction Irish and 20th Century British Art, which included the work Landscape by Derek Hill. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,912.00 (€ 2,868.70), 59% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Derek Hill achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Professor R.B. Mc Dowell leaving the Rubrics, Trinity College, Dublin in May 2001 with an auction result of GBP 23,500.00 (€ 39,398.29).

Im Mai 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion Irish and 20th Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Landscape von Derek Hill zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.912,00 (€ 2.868,70) und damit 59% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Derek Hill erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Professor R.B. Mc Dowell leaving the Rubrics, Trinity College, Dublin im Mai 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 23.500,00 (€ 39.398,29).
