Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In December 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master Paintings Evening Sale, which included the work The Holy Family With Saint Stephen by Denys Calvaert. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 46,850.00 (€ 49,206.13), 17% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Denys Calvaert have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Holy Family With Saint John The Baptist And An Angel in January 2018 with an auction result of USD 591,000.00 (€ 475,539.11).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Dezember 2008 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master Paintings Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Holy Family With Saint Stephen von Denys Calvaert zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 46.850,00 (€ 49.206,13) und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Denys Calvaert auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Holy Family With Saint John The Baptist And An Angel im Januar 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 591.000,00 (€ 475.539,11).
