Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2006 a collector was able to acquire the work Sphinx by Denis Wirth-Miller for GBP 960.00 (€ 1,425.63). This price was achieved in the auction The Poetry of Crisis; The Peter Nahum Collection of British Surrealist and Avant-Garde Art 1930-1951 at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Denis Wirth-Miller achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sussex Landscape in June 2021 with an auction result of GBP 12,600.00 (€ 14,682.28).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im November 2006 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Sphinx von Denis Wirth-Miller für GBP 960,00 (€ 1.425,63) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The Poetry of Crisis; The Peter Nahum Collection of British Surrealist and Avant-Garde Art 1930-1951 bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Denis Wirth-Miller erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sussex Landscape im Juni 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 12.600,00 (€ 14.682,28).
