Despite a disappointment, a good price for Deng Qichang
When the work Chrysanthemum by Deng Qichang was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in March last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,147.50 (€ 1,034.44). Despite this disappointing result, Chrysanthemum is the most expensive artwork by Deng Qichang that we have observed at auction so far.
Trotz Enttäuschung ein guter Preis für Deng Qichang
Als die Arbeit Chrysanthemum von Deng Qichang im März letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.147,50 (€ 1.034,44) den Besitzer. Trotz dieses enttäuschenden Ergebnisses ist Chrysanthemum das teuerste Kunstwerk von Deng Qichang, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
