A top price for Deng Fen
When the work Encounter By The Lakeside Pavilion by Deng Fen was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2017, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 700,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than ten times as high at HKD 7,060,000.00 (€ 777,036.40). This high result makes Encounter By The Lakeside Pavilion the most expensive artwork by Deng Fen that we have observed at auctions so far.

Als die Arbeit Encounter By The Lakeside Pavilion von Deng Fen im Oktober 2017 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 700.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 7.060.000,00 (€ 777.036,40) mehr als zehnmal so hoch.
