This artwork by Demétre Chiparus achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in November 2007. In the The Sculpture Sale auction, the work Lazzarone; The Schoolgirl - two figures of children sold for EUR 4,375.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Demétre Chiparus achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Exotic Dancer Sculpture, Circa 1920 in April 2011 with an auction result of GBP 193,250.00 (€ 217,632.80).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 75 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Demétre Chiparus erzielte im November 2007 bei Christies in Amsterdam einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Sculpture Sale wurde die Arbeit Lazzarone; The Schoolgirl - two figures of children für EUR 4.375,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 2.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Demétre Chiparus erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Exotic Dancer Sculpture, Circa 1920 im April 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 193.250,00 (€ 217.632,80).
