Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Patinated Bronze Figure Of A Water Carrier by Demétre Chiparus was sold in the Home and Interiors auction at Bonhams in London in August 2021. The price achieved of GBP 3,825.00 (€ 4,456.13) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Demétre Chiparus achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Exotic Dancer Sculpture, Circa 1920 in April 2011 with an auction result of GBP 193,250.00 (€ 217,632.80).

Die Arbeit A Patinated Bronze Figure Of A Water Carrier von Demétre Chiparus wurde im August 2021 in der Auktion Home and Interiors bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.825,00 (€ 4.456,13) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Demétre Chiparus erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Exotic Dancer Sculpture, Circa 1920 im April 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 193.250,00 (€ 217.632,80).
