Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Reclining Female Figure, Circa 1925 by Demétre Chiparus was sold in the Decorative Arts and Contemporary Ceramics including Vintage Posters auction at Bonhams in London in December 2020. The price achieved of GBP 3,825.00 (€ 4,272.87) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Demétre Chiparus achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Exotic Dancer Sculpture, Circa 1920 in April 2011 with an auction result of GBP 193,250.00 (€ 217,632.80).

Die Arbeit Reclining Female Figure, Circa 1925 von Demétre Chiparus wurde im Dezember 2020 in der Auktion Decorative Arts and Contemporary Ceramics including Vintage Posters bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.825,00 (€ 4.272,87) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Demétre Chiparus erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Exotic Dancer Sculpture, Circa 1920 im April 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 193.250,00 (€ 217.632,80).
