Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2006 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction The Sculpture Sale, which included the work Bayadère by Demétre Chiparus. The price achieved of EUR 31,200.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Admittedly, works by Demétre Chiparus have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Exotic Dancer Sculpture, Circa 1920 in April 2011 with an auction result of GBP 193,250.00 (€ 217,632.80).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2006 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion The Sculpture Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bayadère von Demétre Chiparus zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 31.200,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Demétre Chiparus auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Exotic Dancer Sculpture, Circa 1920 im April 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 193.250,00 (€ 217.632,80).
