Auction result well in line with expectations
The work 'Starlight': A Bronze And Ivory Figure by Demétre Chiparus was sold in the Russian Paintings auction at Sothebys in London in June 2008. The price achieved of GBP 49,250.00 (€ 62,253.65) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Demétre Chiparus - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Exotic Dancer Sculpture, Circa 1920, which sold at auction in April 2011 for GBP 193,250.00 (€ 217,632.80).

Die Arbeit 'Starlight': A Bronze And Ivory Figure von Demétre Chiparus wurde im Juni 2008 in der Auktion Russian Paintings bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 49.250,00 (€ 62.253,65) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Demétre Chiparus mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Exotic Dancer Sculpture, Circa 1920 beobachtet, die im April 2011 für GBP 193.250,00 (€ 217.632,80) versteigert wurde.
