The work 'Etoile De Mer' ('Starfish'): A Bronze And Ivory Figure by Demétre Chiparus was sold in the Russian Paintings auction at Sothebys in London in June 2008. The price achieved of GBP 121,250.00 (€ 153,264.07) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Other works by Demétre Chiparus have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in April 2011 the work Exotic Dancer Sculpture, Circa 1920 was auctioned for GBP 193,250.00 (€ 217,632.80).
